Potato Planter

KASUN Potato Planter also known as the potato sowing machine or sweet potato planting machine, is an agricultural machinery used for planting root and stem crops such as potatoes. It has integrated functions of making furrows, applying fertilizer, sowing seeds, and covering the soil. It is often used in conjunction with small tractors.

KASUN Potato Planter according to the number of sowing rows, it can be divided into single-row and double-row modes, suitable for different scale farmlands; according to the type of seed distributor, it can be classified into spoon-type, belt-type, needle-piercing-type, air-suction-type, and rotating-disc-type, among which the spoon-type is the most widely used.

Working principle and core structure:

◆ Power transmission: The tractor pulls the seeder forward. The wheels rotate to provide power, which is transmitted to the seed and fertilizer dispensing mechanisms through a sprocket chain system;

◆ Ditching: The front-mounted digging device (shovel type or disc type) cuts the required planting furrows in the soil;

◆ Seed collection and seed discharge: The potato cups on the chain are taken out of the seed box, lifted to the highest point, and then pushed into the planting furrow through the seed potato guide pipe;

◆ Fertilization: The granular fertilizer in the fertilizer box is driven by the wheel of the fertilizer conveyor or the trough wheel, guided by the fertilizer pipe. It is usually applied on the side or above the seed potatoes and separated by the soil to prevent burning of the seeds;

◆ Soil covering and ridge formation: The soil covering shovel or disc will fill and cover the soil on the ditch wall with the potato seeds and fertilizers, and form ridges as needed.
